Step 1: Planning
In order for us to properly estimate the cost for your project, we will need a detailed layout or diagram with actual measurements. This will allow us to determine the number of slabs needed for your estimate.
Step 2: Shopping
This is the fun step! We will help you find the stone selection of your dreams, either from the samples in our showroom or the slabs we have available in our yard. The final price will be calculated based on the stone you select (Level I, II, III), the edge options chosen, and of course the drawing(s) that you bring in. Once a deposit is secured, your stone is ordered and the process continues to the next step.
Step 3: The Template
A template is an exact size replica of your countertops or exact measurements of your countertops that serves as a guide in the cutting process. Measurements for the template must be taken in your kitchen. If you want a counterop-to-cabinet full backsplash, the upper cabinets must be installed. Please make sure that your existing countertops are completely clean and cleared of all appliances so that we may take
all necessary measurements for the template.
Step 4: Say Goodbye to the old countertops
Frequently we include the removal of your old countertops for a small fee.We will remove and dispose of your existing countertops. This includes disconnecting your plumbing, but not re-connection. If you choose to remove the old countertops yourself, make sure it is done before your installation date. If there is any problem with the cabinets underneath, please notify our office staff, so we can reschedule installation after the problem is corrected.
Step 5: Installation Day
We will need you to have your faucet on site so that we may drill accurate holes. We will also need your cooktop on site. Make sure that the kitchen is clean, that the floor is clear of obstacles all the way from the door to the kitchen. Keep in mind that there may be some dust during demolition. You may wish to seal off other rooms in the house with painters’ plastic. Please designate an area for garbage and debris. At completion, we require the final payment in the form of cash, check or certified check. This payment is due no later than the day of installation.
Step 6: After Installation
A plumber will be needed to re-connect your faucets and garbage disposal. Please let us know if you need us to schedule this service.
Step 7: Questions
Be sure to ask any questions you may have before the installation date to ensure that things go smoothly. Communication is the key to a picture-perfect installation of your beautiful, new stone countertops.
